Jesse Flores’ law enforcement career of over 18 years with the Lewisville Police Department has afforded him diverse and unique opportunities, allowing him the honor of developing into a Denton County community leader.
Jesse Flores offers his time, his passion, his experience, his drive, his leadership to the citizens of Denton County. The old adage is that children are the future, and Jesse Flores respects the safety of our children. Denton County is filled with inspiring mentors who can positively impact our youth. Nationally, an increase of school-aged victims report being bullied and youth suicide is at an alarming rate. Jesse Flores will partner with educational, business and community organizations and groups to seek, provide and participate in programs and resources to protect our children from drugs, bullies, and weapons. It’s no secret that crime knows no age boundaries and knowledge is power in preventing crime.
“As Sheriff, I will work diligently to prevent crime rather than react to crimes committed. Through intense crime prevention education and direct, respectful, open communication with their law enforcement agencies Denton County citizens will be empowered. Statistically, nine out of ten arrests are made from a cooperative county citizen report, a suspicious circumstance.
Described as the “process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”, leadership in the Denton County Sheriff’s
Department is key.
In building the capacity for Denton County citizens to have the knowledge of the resources of their Denton County Sheriff’s Department, the citizens will know that it is not an inconvenience to call the police to report a suspicious circumstance; it is the key to crime prevention.”
